"It was a dream to work with these grapes from Beckstoffer's George III vineyard. This revered plot is a piece of Napa's history. With this wine, we wanted to pay tribute to Georges de Latour, the original French vigneron who helped put our region on the world wine map." Helen Keplinger
Tasting Notes
Gorgeous aromatics of candied ginger, cassis, red and black fruit, rose petal, and anise. The nose lingers further with boysenberry, red earth, aromatic black tea, hints of cedar, and balsamic. The palate has an incredibly silky entry with flavors of dark fruit, flowers, red earth, exotic spices, and crushed stones. This wine has terrific weight and gorgeous texture followed by a flavorful and very lengthy finish. Delicious now, and will age effortlessly for as long as you wish to cellar it.

The 2018 vintage was a cooler, even season without much in the way of heat spikes or cold snaps. Canopies were healthy, full, and crop set was balanced. An easy-growing vintage that made really beautiful wines of terrific balance, intensity, and texture. Readily accessible upon release but will also age well. Terrific vintage for all varietals.
Philosophy
This boutique single-vineyard Cabernet is made in tiny quantities using ultra-premium fruit. We sourced the grapes from Beckstoffer's legendary Georges III vineyard in the Rutherford AVA. To do them and their terroir justice, we matured this wine in our finest French oak barrels, giving it a luxurious complexity while also honoring the vineyard's French founder.
We made just eight barrels this vintage from the Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard. The grapes were hand-harvested in the cool early morning, meticulously vinified by Helen Keplinger, then placed into our finest French barrels. These new, premium oak barriques from the Taransaud (Cognac) and Sylvain (Libourne) cooperages imbue the wine with added depth and character.
