Aromas of black cherry, cassis, coffee, anise, tar, and plum are woven into a lovely aromatic tapestry, with different flavors revealing themselves as the wine opens and evolves in the glass. Beyond its heady aromatics, the wine is big on body and truly packs a punch. Juicy, glorious fruit and a big, structured tannic finish round out this wine that is big, bold and beautiful.

Latin Translation: From Soil to Bottle
2009 was a warm, dry vintage that did not experience any hot or cold spikes; as a result, vines were to ripen slowly and to their full flavor potential as the season progressed. A brief shower late in September pushed harvest back about two weeks later than usual, although the thick-skinned Cabernet Sauvignon grapes did not suffer from any quality issues from the rain. After the wetness passed, we experienced another three weeks of glorious weather, and the grapes were harvested towards the end of that period of Indian Summer. Due to its intensity, concentration and expressive aromatics, we did not add any Merlot, Petite Sirah, or other blending grapes to the final cuvée. The result is a stunning, powerful wine that illustrates why Cab is King in Napa Valley.
