"A mesmerizing iteration of Pinot Noir from the Silver Eagle Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast. The "hens and chicks" of the Calera Clone give this wine its depth of flavor and texture. I am so impressed with this wine's dark fruit character, forest floor notes and spice. It is an honor to make wine from this Ulises Valdez vineyard" Helen Keplinger
Tasting Notes
The 2021 Silver Eagle Pinot Noir opens with a gorgeous, dense nose, displaying an elegant balance of sweet and savory notes. It displays a gorgeous core of black cherry and brambly blackberry, with notes of black tea, forest floor, carob, baking spices, and sweet lilac. The weight and complexity translate effortlessly to the palate, with cherry, blackberry, vanilla bean, and a hint of baking spices. Silky and velvety, the fine tannins frame the interplay of fruit and spice, driving a long, flavorful finish.

Situated in the rolling hills north of West Sonoma County on the border of the Green Valley and Sonoma Coast Appellations, Silver Eagle Vineyard sits well above the valleys of the Russian River, offering its vines a respite from the thick fog that often covers those below. Consistent daytime sun and heat combine with the cool nights from the nearby ocean to build this site’s signature terroir.
