"While this is a new-age, terroir-driven Pinot with bags of contemporary style and focus, it has a generous Burgundian heart, brought out by the French Vosges oak barrels we age it in. The perfectly grown, lovingly hand-harvested fruit reveals its quality in every sip." Cristie Kerr
Tasting Notes
Beautiful, pure fruit aromatics of black raspberry, blueberry, and red currant are highlighted by savory characters of juniper berry, Darjeeling tea, laurel, and forest on the nose. A lively palate with notes of violet, potpourri, and candied orange peel are complemented by gravely minerality and fine tannin, followed by a finish of great length and purity.

Latin Translation: From Soil to Bottle
This Pinot Noir comes from the Silver Eagle vineyard in Sonoma, just outside the town of Occidental, and is primarily from a gently sloped single block of Pommard clone. The morning fog and cool temperatures hang around until almost midday at this site, which helps to retain the fresh and pure flavors of the fruit.
The 2019 vintage was a glorious, cool year, beginning with copious spring rains which brought us beautiful, healthy canopies. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay triumphed in this vintage.

Philosophy
This wine is sourced primarily from a single block of Pommard clone Pinot Noir, which lends itself well to whole cluster fermentation. The Pommard clone also tends to produce an approachable wine with notes of blue fruits and silky texture.
This wine will benefit from allowing it to open up in the glass, or drinking it over a night or two. Decanting is not recommended.
