Tasting Notes
The nose opens with dark notes of black cherry, with layers of oolong tea, mission fig, dried violets, and subtle juniper. Red-black fruit flavors dominate on the palate and are perfectly balanced by undertones of cedar, orange zest, and a whisper of peat. The silky entry develops into a full and rich structure, while maintain freshness and vibrancy. The complex and elegant finish invites another sip.

Situated in the rolling hills north of West Sonoma County on the border of the Green Valley and Sonoma Coast Appellations, Silver Eagle Vineyard sits well above the valleys of the Russian River, offering its vines a respite from the thick fog that often covers those below. Consistent daytime sun and heat combine with the cool nights from the nearby ocean to build this site’s signature terroir.
The 2019 vintage was a glorious, cool year, beginning with copious spring rains which brought us beautiful, healthy canopies. The vintage was reminiscent of the stunning 2018, yet the wines have their own hallmark of vibrant freshness, terrific intensity, bright acidity, silky entries, and long, driven finishes. Pinot and Chardonnay triumphed in this vintage. There is much to love about the wines from this beautiful vintage.
