"This vineyard is very special to me. With the Palisades mountains as the backdrop to this phenomenal plot of land, the location couldn't be better. There's just so much history here that really influences the wine. I'm a sucker for a good story and this wine delivers outstanding quality and an extraordinary narrative." - Cristie Kerr
Tasting Notes
The terroir of this storied vineyard shows vibrantly in both the nose and palate. High-toned red fruit, dried aromatic herbs, dried rose petal, cocoa powder, pencil lead, and cassis bud sing in the nose. The textured palate matches the nose with fine tannins, great drive, and persistence. Drenching with plush and exquisitely integrated red fruits with a firm, but generous mid-palate. The mineral notes add gravity and freshness. Incredibly age-worthy!

Latin Translation: From Soil to Bottle
The Wappo Hill vineyard and ranch borders the famed Stag’s Leap region. One of Napa Valley's most venerated origins of Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard name pays homage to the original indigenous tribes of Napa Valley dating back as far as the 18th century.
Today, Wappo Hill ranch is known for its distinctive gravelly and clay loam soils that retain less water but high nutrient deposits. Daily breezes caress the peaks and valleys from the San Pablo bay resulting in a slowed ripening cycle that produces small berries and intensely flavored fruit with plush silky tannins.

Philosophy
The Wappo Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine of integrity. Tended to for hundreds of years by the indigenous tribes of Napa Valley, the land is now one of the region’s premier locations for plush and silky Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This wine is a symbol of respect for the history of the land, the tribes that honored it, and the purity of fruit that flourishes here. With delicate guidance from Helen Keplinger, our single-vineyard Wappo Cabernet Sauvignon has developed into an impressive wine with character, power, and elegance.
