"Five vintages into our proprietary Reserve Red and still proudly acknowledged as our flagship wine. This 2018 release has a sheen, gloss, and texture that I have never tasted in previous vintages. It's lively and vivacious with dark and brooding fruit." Matt Lane, Kerr Cellars EVP
Tasting Notes
Showcasing a gorgeous garnet-red hue and remarkable complexity. On the nose, aromas of Bing cherry, red vines, terra cotta, star anise, spice box, black licorice, cassis, and violets sing from the glass. The aromatics are present and interwoven beautifully throughout the silky, plush, textural palate, with tremendous length and finish. This delicious wine is drinking beautifully now and will age effortlessly for many years to come.

Cooler, even season without much in the way of heat spikes or cold snaps. Canopies were healthy, full, and crop set was balanced. An easy-growing vintage that made really beautiful wines of terrific balance, intensity, and texture. Readily accessible upon release but will also age well. Terrific vintage basically for all varietals.
Philosophy
Our Reserve Red is the pinnacle of vinification and vineyard sourcing in the Napa Valley. Helen Keplinger goes to extreme lengths to source fruit for this Reserve Red. If the supreme fruit resource is not there, the wine is not made. They say, that great wine is made in the vineyard. That is not true. Great fruit is made in the vineyard. And great fruit is what makes our Reserve Proprietary Red!
